- You will need to enter your personal information just as if you were signing up for a regular savings account. Many people are concerned with putting their personal information on the internet. - Make an electronic deposit from your existing checking account. You will have to connect your checking account to your new savings account in order to transfer money, and this will verify your account.

Before you start
There are a few things you will need before you begin the sign up process:
- You will need your checkbook. In order to transfer money, you need a connection between your checking and savings accounts. In order to make this connection you need your routing and account numbers found on your checks.
- You will need to confirm your checking account. In order to do this, ING will send to small amounts of money to your checking and you will need to verify these amounts within 60 days.
- You will have to wait 5 days after depositing money before you can withdraw it. When you first open your account you will have to wait at least ten days to withdraw your initial amount.

Once you are finished signing up and verifying your account, you will be able to deposit and withdraw (10 days after for your initial deposit), and start earning interest!
