Teaching Kids to Save with Planet Orange

Teaching your kids about saving is incredibly important. You need to teach them at a young age the value of a dollar and have them start saving now.

Teaching kids about money might seem kind of boring. You give them an allowance or pay them to do some extra chores. You tell them not to spend it all but to save maybe 10 or 20%. You take them to the bank to set up their own savings account that they can put their money in.

This is teaching them and hopefully they will learn from this. If you want to make things more fun for them, get them involved with Planet Orange at Orangekids.com. Here they can learn all about saving money and have fun with games.

They will begin by choosing a guide and then they can explore the planet.

Moneyland

Kids will start out by visiting moneyland. This is where they learn the basics about money and earning money. They can visit the Exchange Bowl, Value Valley, Job Oasis, or Money quiz.

This section teaches kids about the value of money. They will learn that dollars and coins stand for something and that money isn’t free. Finally, they can take a quiz to see how much they’ve learned.

Republic of Saving

As you’ve probably expected, the Republic of Saving teaches kids about saving money. They can visit the saving trail, interest mountain, banking pinnacle, and take the saving quiz. They teach kids about making savings goals, earning interest, and about certificates of deposit. Saving money is the backbone of ING and Planet Orange has a lot of great information for kids.

Investor Islands

On Investor Island, kids can visit the island of profit, cape variety, stock archipelago, and take the investing quiz. They teach kids that by investing money they can earn more, how to vary what they invest in, and what it means to own stock. This is a great way to teach kids about investing early on so that they can watch their money grow quickly over time.

South Spending

Spending is a problem among a lot of adults. The best way to keep them from getting into debt in the future is by teaching them how to spend carefully now. In South Spending they can visit Spendopolis and the Credit tower. Credit is another very important issue that you want your kids to understand now before they go crazy with credit cards as they get older.
